Prime Minister Mark Carney has called a federal election for Sunday, April 28, 2025, launching a 36-day national campaign that will shape Canada’s future at a time of growing economic uncertainty. With Canadians heading to the polls, Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada (FHCP) is calling on voters, partners, and industry supporters to help ensure our sector is part of the national conversation. From the food on store shelves to the everyday health and household products Canadians rely on, our sector is foundational to the country’s economic resilience and public well-being. That’s why FHCP has launched a cross-country advocacy effort to promote the essential role our industry plays—and to secure smart, forward-looking policies from the next government.
Our newly updated microsite, OnEveryShelf.ca, is your go-to hub for:
FHCP represents the companies behind the essential products Canadians count on every day—from pantry staples and household cleaners to over-the-counter medications and self-care products. Our sector is the largest manufacturing employer in the country, supporting over 300,000 jobs in nearly 10,000 facilities from coast to coast. Whether transforming Canadian-grown ingredients into food for families or producing trusted health and wellness products that ease pressure on the healthcare system, our members play a vital role in the lives of Canadians and the strength of our economy. In fact, nearly three-quarters of the products on grocery and drug store shelves are made by FHCP members. Our industry is part of Canada’s critical infrastructure—and our voice deserves to be heard this election. Take action today at OnEveryShelf.ca. Let’s make sure our sector’s impact is recognized and supported—now and for the future.
